On partially blind learning complexity
نویسندگان
چکیده
We call a learning environment partially blind when there is an admixture o f supervised and unsupervised (or blind) learning. Such situations typically arise in practice when supervised training data labelled by a teacher are scarce or expensive and are supplemented by inexpensive unlabelled (or blind) data available in relative profusion. Vapnik-eervonenkis theory can be deployed in such settings to quantify the relative worth o f supervision (and the lack thereof) in learning. We illustrate the nature o f the tradeo s possible in a simple setting o f hyperplane decision functions and make explicit the role o f dimensionality and side-information in these tradeo s in the context o f d-variate Gaussian mixtures.

Task Complexity Manipulation and EFL learners’ interactions in the process of collaborative pre-planning
Today, learners’ interaction and collaborative task performance have attracted increasing attention from language teachers and researchers. The present study investigated whether collaborative pre-planning, task complexity manipulation, and language proficiency level play a role in learners’ interactions. To this end, 128 EFL learners from two different language proficiency levels carried out t...
متن کاملCompact Round-Optimal Partially-Blind Signatures
Partially-blind signatures find many applications in the area of anonymity, such as in e-cash or e-voting systems. They extend classical blind signatures, with a signed message composed of two parts: a public one (common to the user and the signer) and a private one (chosen by the user, and blindly signed). The signer cannot link later the message-signature to the initial interaction with the u...
متن کاملOn Computational Power of Partially Blind Automata
In this paper we deal with 1-way multihead finite automata, in which the symbol under only one head (called read head) controls its move and other heads cannot distinguish the input symbols, they can only distinguish the end-marker from the other input symbols and they are called the blind head. We call such automaton a partially blind multihead automaton. We prove that partially blind k + 1-he...
متن کاملTeaching-Learning approach in complexity paradigm
"Teaching-Learning Approach" is a model of interaction between teachers and students in an educational environment and one of the main components of the educational system. This model can be organized and designed on the basis of various opinions and ideas, including philosophical or scientific theories. This research aims to design and explain teaching-learning approach based on the complexity...
متن کاملThe Effect of efficiency of cooperative learning method on increasing blind students' perception of mathematical conceptions
Blind students have limitations that their teachers have to apply efficient educational methods for them. Since mathematics concepts are abstract for blind students and they cannot understand these concepts deeply, this research has tried that used and introduced cooperative learning method for this reason. Blind students have high listening capacity then cooperative learning method can pro...
